Toto Wolff has warned that Ferrari are now a genuine threat for the rest of the season, after they defied even their own expectations at Silverstone. Ferrari were supposed to struggle at the British Grand Prix. The circuit is power sensitive and energy starved, which in theory suited the Mercedes W17. It did not play out that way. The SF-26's aero efficiency meant it was more energy efficient around the high speed track, cutting the battery management deficit between the two power units. "We need to look at ourselves," Wolff admitted. "They said before the weekend that they're going to be lacking energy over this track. They haven't." His verdict: "They were a strong competitor, and this is to be expected now for the rest of the season." Spa is another energy poor track. Ferrari still trail Mercedes by 78 points after nine rounds. πΈπ° via RacingNews365 #F1 #Mercedes #Ferrari #TotoWolff
